What is a home inspection?

Technically defined a home inspection is the visual examination of the home to determine the condition of that home at the time of the inspection. Home inspectors are highly skilled at determining a house’s condition, but they are limited to what they can access visually.

How to choose a home inspector

Ask your real estate agent for recommendations of inspectors. Phone and interview at least three. You should ask the methods they use to inspect the home,what their qualifications are and if  they have errors and omissions insurance to protect them if they make a mistake. After you talk to the inspectors you can determine who you are most comfortable using.
