Our Weather

Halifax has a maritime climate controlled to a large degree by the water that surrounds us. The warm Gulf Stream is about 400 Km off our coast but the cold Labrador Current runs in between. The water off the coast is fairly cool in the summer and very cold in the winter. Our winters are more temperate than many other parts of Canada and our summers tend to be cooler. Average temperatures in the winter are around the freezing point and in the summer around 19 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit; very comfortable.
